As promised my next pix are without snow. Although you have to believe me that there is almost no snow left because the pix are taken inside. ;-) No, it is almost spring here. In fact I sat outside in the sun today and read some for my studies and was prompt watched by one of my students. You are always under observation as a teacher. LOL Such nice weather at the moment. See how long it stays.
Okay those pictures took one of my roommates during our last townhouse party, which was an interesting one...
my roommates Saima and Valérie
Marco and Greg, two of our guests
me added
Val and Magda, Greg's sister and Marco's wife
acting gay in Lemia's shoes
He loves the family he has married into LOL
Greg and me
enjoying
Well next day we had another party, maybe some pix will follow. The result is quite a lack of sleep but if it is worth it I don't mind. So still enjoying my time in Canada. :-)

Catching up
Hi there,
I am feeling much better by now. After being sick I really catched up with my social life. I don't have pix on that, though. LOL So you have to believe me without proof. The bad thing is that I also have to catch up with parts of my studies. But I am pretty sure I'll manage. ;-)
Best wishes, Bea

More pix from the snow?
Send from my townhouse bed, where I spent most of the day and only corrected 3 (!) tests. Well, I shouldn't demand too much of myself at the moment. Plus I got a bit infected by the youtube-virus. Wow, you can spend time there. ;-) Thanks to a new skating-pal, who got me infected. I never really got into it before but he wanted me to check out Mika, who's concert we will visit next week. And there I was: you-tube for hours... LOL
on we go
the entrance of the hostel
still walking
not for long, Karin from Sweden (she's doing it for almost 20 years)
for me it was the first time ever: Flachlandtiroler halt ;-)
and I could even go on blue tracks (well, one...) and got really fast there: Meine Herren! Good to know how to break the run... I learned quickly and made quite some progress that day but it was exhausting for sure
at the Lost Lake, LOL, we had to believe there was a lake
as the blue tracks got a bit higher, we had lovely views and weather as well
giving up?
not quite
back in the village
icicles again, some were more than a metre
the "zoo" (sorry but I love that expression ;-) coming down Whistler Mountain
I did it the calmer, but as it turned out much wetter, way next day (and I still suffer the consequences)
lots of lovely snowshoe tracks
here my feed are still dry (I even had toe-warmers ;-)
well somehow it was worth it...
admiring the view
in the thick snow, not so dry anymore...
in the mood for fooling around
crossing the tracks for the cross-countriers (that was a black one)
on the lake (Nicht nachmachen!)
some even crossed the lake, I had no time and energy left after about 4 hours of snowshoe-walking and by then realizing that my feet were soaked :-(
but I always have some time for taking pix ;-)
Bye bye snow shoes, I enjoyed it as well as the whole weekend very much :-)

Recovering slowly
Okay, my students wrote their exam but that was about it outside my townhouse today. And now we even have more snow on the mountain. Campus is closed again (no late classes, well I had none today...) and buses are not running again. There have been several accidents on the way to and from SFU. So better stay home anyways... Luckily I didn't go down to get some food or medicine today. I got some food on campus, but no way to get medicine here, no pharmacy. That's a real problem! Well, luckily I still have some and even cough sirup now. Which is supposed to help me getting my voice back. What a real Canadian experience again! Apart from the snow and traffic situation. Around Greater Vancouver they have no clue how to deal with snow and ice, most cars don't even have winter tires. (And if you ask the rental agencies about it, they laugh at you...) Well, we experience at least once a week what that leads to... I am happy that I am in residence now and not freezing my b... off somewhere... One of my neighbours walked up here today (about 1 hour when you find the way).
Okay, better stuff, some pix (although, even if so beautiful, I almost cannot see snow anymore...)
still on campus
we did not build her
during a closed day - there are supposed to be stairs ;-)
kids playing in the snow on the sports field
"No, Ioana, you wouldn't dare! You don't hate German(s) that much..." ;-)
our famous Terry Fox with a funny touque (hat) - well I created it as he had lost all the snow on his head by then (why ever)
view to the other sports field
Off to the Rockies
arrival in Whistler - snow
getting rid of some gear
tree in the village
that was a funny place, full of cowy equipment: "Holy cow!"
in the hostel, which was wonderfully located
those buildings belong to the hostel complex, there is a lake (Alta lake) and the mountains in the background
view out of our window (with an icicle in front)
another view from the hostel area, early in the morning; we had to catch an early bus for our activities
